Aratis has been involved in the procurement of WindplanBlauw since 2017, one of the restructuring projects for wind energy production in Flevoland.

Since 2018, the Project Information Management System (PIMS) from Aratis System Experts has been applied within WindplanBlauw to give form and structure to the integrated management approach and, thereby, manage the complexity of the project. The project team chose PIMS because of its integrated approach based on Systems Engineering, combined with the involvement of our experts who thoroughly understand the system. Disconnected systems, local documentation, specialists being excluded, and managers lacking control and overview are a thing of the past with the implementation of the complete PIMS package. This complete package integrates and controls all PIMS project management modules and related processes, including Requirements Management, Risk Management, early involvement of contractors, and document coordination.

By involving our experts in the project organization, the full potential of PIMS can be utilized. This helps us apply a two-phase training approach (from the group to the individual) so that end-users are trained and equipped with the right knowledge to get the most efficiency from the system. At the same time, our experts can quickly act to adjust modules to continue meeting the needs of the end-users. For instance, one of the project team’s wishes was to have the perfect design and integration of automated contractual communication with contractors in PIMS. Ultimately, with the “fully integrated PIMS” package, a complete, integrated, and fit-for-purpose solution was implemented for the centralized working environment of WindplanBlauw.
